Talk to David- Comcast Business Class

October 21st, 2013

Talk to David if this is you!

Stating that the internet, cable, phone,  and other technical services are imperative to operate a sustainable business is a laughable understatement. With today’s bandwidth requirements and the need to remain connected to the cloud at all times makes people, like David Parrish, and the services he offers more important than ever. David from Comcast Business Class is full of positive energy and knowledge that can help businesses excel.  A multitude of gimmicks exist today in the cable, internet, and phone service industry, though David delivers genuine, no obligation facts concerning these technical services that are vital to every business–small and large. The fact that Comcast has the fastest internet in the market, and speeds available from 17 Mbps to 100 Mbps with 24/7 customer service suggests that the Comcast Business Class services practically sell themselves!

“My job is to make sure the transition from your current service provider to Comcast is as smooth as possible” said David. Businesses that switch to Comcast for internet, phone and TV typically save from 10 to 30 percent on their monthly billing according to David, and the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce can attest to this! Recently, as you may know, the Chamber has experienced difficulty with phone services. David arrived to save the day with his Comcast Business Voice product—keeping us up and running with great functioning service, and equally important, wonderful customer service. Having a local representative that is consistently available like David, is almost as invaluable as the technical services Comcast provides. Having unlimited long distance calling that Comcast provides is great and what is even better is that David is available Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and almost never misses a call. Other live support personnel is available 24/7 as well for those late night inquires, or early morning technical questions while preparing for a conference, etc.

David has been working with Comcast for over 12 years, starting out as a residential installer working his way up to his current position.

“I like my job, and I can say that with a smile” said David. This is evident when talking with David about Comcast services. He brings great energy and know-how to the conversation. He will probably make you laugh too!

David has recently become involved with the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce after visiting to help the Chamber transition from an old provider last month. David is now Comcast’s chamber representative, and he is looking forward to becoming an active member in the Chamber community. Comcast Business Class was a sponsor for this year’s golf scramble that David had the opportunity to play in.

“I had a lot of fun, it (the golf scramble) wasn’t bad with rain gear!” said David of the experience “We didn’t really get rained on until the 12th or 13th hole. Playing made me more excited to become even better acquainted with the Chamber and the other members”.

THPRD Approves New Logo

October 16th, 2013

The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District Board of Directors on Monday night (Oct. 14) unanimously approved a new logo for the district.
thprd

THPRD’s current logo was created 58 years ago when the district was founded and has basically remained the same since then.  According to General Manager Doug Menke, it has served the district well but is understandably out of date.

“We wanted a new logo that is fresh and modern and future-oriented,” he said.  “The one we chose signifies diversity, both in terms of our population makeup and the services we offer.  We like how simple and clean and readable it is with bold colors.  Plus it has an active look.”

Golf Scramble 2013!

October 2nd, 2013

golf scramble 6 - CopyThe Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 26th annual golf scramble Friday, September 27th at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club despite Mother Nature’s efforts to sabotage the Chamber’s biggest and most anticipated fundraiser of the year! Wind and rain was in the forecast, though that did not faze the Chamber members and players dedicated to supporting business in Beaverton rain or shine!

“The weather made set up fun! We got soaked – but then it went to a steady drizzle. It was chilly and damp – but it didn’t dampen the fun for sure!” said Beaverton Chamber CEO, Lorraine Clarno.

The Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce relies on the Golf Scramble each year to continue programs, with the goal of supporting business as a proactive advocate and resource. This year’s golf scramble boasted more theme holes than ever, with the overarching theme “Bucket List”, that inspired a “Spa Day” theme hole, “Tailgate Party”, “Mardi Gras”, and of course, the Chamber’s annual “Dudes in Dresses” theme hole.

Jerry Jones’s team took first place in the scramble—winning a golf package from Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, and pro-shop credit. Raffle winners announced at the banquet took home amazing prizes as well! Just ask Char Shinn of Oregonian’s Credit Union, who you may spot speeding around in a 2014 Mercedes on the weekend while her car is being detailed, or Michael Clarno who won dinner at the Ringside, and golf at The Reserve. Wine, restaurant certificates, a Trager grill, and other tokens from great entities around Beaverton were also raffled off to lucky winners. Watch the raffle drawing as it unfolded! golf scramble 17

The golf scramble, as with all Beaverton Chamber of Commerce events, is successful and unique largely due to the great sponsors and participants that understand the importance of supporting the local business economy, and have fun while doing it! Thank you to all the Golf Scramble sponsors and players that braved the elements this year!
